Coalition for Smart Growth

About Us

Looking to the future for sustainable, smart growth.

Who We Are

Coalition for Smart Growth in the Mount Comfort Corridor (Coalition for Smart Growth) is a group of businesses and municipalities located in Hancock County working to promote smart, sustainable growth in the region. Businesses leading the Smart Growth Coalition include NineStar Connect, Hancock Health, and Greenfield Banking Company. Municipalities include McCordsville, Cumberland, and New Palestine.

What We Do

We are working to implement the vision put forward in the 2019 Urban Land Institute (ULI) study that will ensure planned and sustainable growth for the Mount Comfort Corridor. The ULI study envisions planned growth for four nodes along the Mount Comfort Corridor: McCordsville, Indianapolis Regional Airport, Cumberland and New Palestine. We are putting the necessary infrastructure, resources, and services in place to promote the region as a desirable place to work, play and recreate. Already, Hancock County is the most wired county in the state.
